RAF planes bound for Libya perform mid-air refuel

Air to Air assets are still required to mount combat air patrols. They are extra eyes above the air-ground aircraft and also stop Gadaffi trying to fly in arms or mercenaries. All the RAF Typhoon deployed are FGR.4 variants so the can, if required, be given swing role missions. I can't see it happening myself as other platforms have that role covered with a better range of munitions, such as Brimstone. Gadaffis fixed wing air assets might be suppressed, but there is always the threat of attack helicopters.

The caption on LL is clearly wrong as the tank is aiding the peons on the ground...
My tank spotting abilities says it's a T54/55-variant
