    Connaught Ranger.
The British Army recruited three battalions of Libyan Senussi Arabs in WW2: the Libyan Arab Force. A small number of them worked with the LRDG/SAS in Libya. One (Lt Saad Ali Rahouma) was given the Military Cross. I wouldn't be surprised if some Libyans were given the African Star/British War Medal.

Now, now - don't be mean. For all we know, he's a love-child of the 8th Army and these medals - and the flare pistol - are all he has left to remember his father, who left the house of ill-repute via the window just one step ahead of the red hats.
