Any chance seeing a Lybian VZ77 Dana 152mm howitzer ?
Does anyone know where these are parked ? Have they been used by Gaddafi troops against rebels ?
They were not seen once since conflict started, not in loyalists, nor in rebel hands. I also heared nothing about its modernization or spare parts transfer from neither Czech or Slovak arms industry prior to conflict (as in case of LARAF L-39). My guess is that they were all retired after aquision of Italian Palmaria howitzers.
Unlikely.. Dana had been purchased at the same time as Palmaria. Perhaps all of the remaining Dana remain at bases in southern Libya...

Unlikely to have been scrapped- dictaotors seem to be incurable pack rats...guns make them feel powerful so they stack them high in warehouses-even when well past their sell by..which in this case seems to have bitten Gaddafi on the arse.

afaik only ZST Dubnica nad Vahom was building them and maybe they announced end of production in 94 but I have no knowledge about one beeing build after 89 when arms industry entered crisis and decline. Slovakia retired them after development of Zuzana.
In any case, Dana and Palmaria were produced in 1980s and Libya had bought them at the same time.

That is because in the video we see an G.222T (the version Libya bought) and the picture shows a C-27J. Which is a modernized version with a glass ****pit, more powerful engines and 6-bladed propellers.
