It seems after Libya, Syria is about to become the next intensive battlefield. Anyone want to start a Syrian uprising thread?
I'm sorry to rain on your parade but there are quite a few defectors from the Syrian Army:

Nonetheless, tragical developments in the middle east - so much bloodshed
But these comments should be made in the already existing Syrian thread IMHO.
Thanks for the site link and you are quite right, not an AVRE. I believe what we are looking at here is a Tariq (Jordanian upgraded Centurion)
I have written a short article on this new discovery:

I don't know much about these tanks other that they have been supplied by the help of Qatar, it is either of their own or it could be bought from a third country, how ever the pictures you have on your blog are mostly captured from Gaddafi loyalist forcesThanks for the site link and you are quite right, not an AVRE. Speaking of Jordan, origins of that Ratel 20 we´ve seen earlier in Benghazi could be very well traced to Jordan which is producing domestic version of Ratel produced by Paramount Group and KADDB. Given that AVRE is Jordanian as well it may seem that Jordan was one of the main supplier for NTC during the civil war although they went unnoticed.

Zintan fighters display the gun found with Saif Al-Islam. A shiny FAL it is. Anybody's got any other pics of that gun?
