Classy PR technic : instill a reasonable doubt/repeat it x10 (for how long these rumors of mass rapes were running ?) and you don't need any proof

I don't think releasing vids of gang rape to the public is a great idea. When that same **** happens here in the US, you won't have the vids running around, but they'll be used in court

Agreed (and it is the same all around the world). When i said dispatched, i meant (like you concluded) toward/in official institutions (like the ICJ/UNSC...). So far nothing of that

Why is it now somewhat of a byword for "dead" in the middle east? Do they have a different interpretation of it, or are they just trying to make the situation seem more dramatic?

The word martyr simply has a less strict interpretation in Arabic than in the west. Over her it is used mostly in a historic and religious sense, something that happened a long time ago, whereas in the middle east it is used a lot in a political context. Don't think too much of it, it mostly semantics.

By the way, this statement "This is the first time in Operation ELLAMY that Brimstone has been used against a target that was not a vehicle." clarifies that the missiles/bombs used agaist the Libyan Navy ships few days ago were not Brimstones.
