    It's very difficult to predict how it will end and what is better.
    IMO, Syria won't be dominated by the Islamists. It was a secular dictatorship for decades, and will remain a secular dominated country after the war.
    The foreigner Jihadist that are active there will return to their homeland when the war will over.
    This is my assumption.
