The Syrian rebels kidnapped the Aleppo Armenian Hovsep Balmanukyan born in 1990 near the Lebanese border. As the representative of the Syrian community Nazaret Elmajyan informed “Armenpress”, recently the kidnappings have become frequent, but they are not specifically directed to the local Armenians. They usually kidnap members of well-provided families in order to demand a ransom. To Elmajyan’s word Hovsep Balmanukyan is also a son of a financially well-provided family.
There is also information that the rebels are demanding ransom for the junior and the Syrian community has expressed willingness to help the Balmanukyans.

So far from all the vids and pictures I have yet to see the Syrian Army use their full arsenal.
Are you for real? I understand people being cautious about the FSA/Djihadist whackos replacing Assad, but even the SA crushing the rebellion wont fix any of the problems.
Syria would be heading to a continuous low level insurgency, which would this time have every chance of being fully dominated by the most extremist groups.

While doing all that you must remember that your end goal is to restore peace and regain your power. Doing it your way there will be a lot of civilian casualties and infrastructure damage. The situation is too complicated for Assad for this approach to work.

ALSO, rebels have reentered sections of Salaheddine.

    Rebels lose central Aleppo

Syria’s government troops have entered the center of Aleppo, the country’s largest city and commercial hub.

They are now conducting a clean-up operation which can take a couple of days due to the city’s dense and tangled architecture.
According to the media, locals welcome the troops and thank them for liberation from the militants.
The troops assisted by aviation are also fighting against the insurgents in the city’s south-east and western districts.
Assad's force has also regained control of the Salaheddine neighborhood of Aleppo.

I am currently discarding AJE, AA and others from any credibility as long as they report anything that stars as *martyrs*.

Nothing personal, matter of unbaised sources.

    That's what Syrian Media reported(Shrug).

Syria rebels abandon frontline Aleppo district

(*******) - Syrian rebels fighting President Bashar al-Assad's forces in the city of Aleppo have abandoned their positions in a district that has been a frontline of fighting in recent days.
"We have retreated, get out of here," a lone rebel fighter yelled at ******* journalists as they arrived on Wednesday in the Salaheddine district. A checkpoint that had been manned by rebel fighters for the last week had disappeared, its location marked only by an opposition flag.
Explosions could be heard as incoming gunfire hit buildings in the area. A Syrian government security source told Lebanon's Al-Manar television that Syrian forces were now in control of the Salaheddine district.
Helicopters flew over a police station that was still in rebel hands about 1 km (half a mile) away from Salaheddine. Fighters ran around in chaos shouting into walkie talkies: "The army has entered, the army has entered".
A rebel commander who identified himself as Abu Ali said he had received information that army tanks had entered Salaheddine, adding that he had little additional information because communications were bad.
