    Ah, it's most likely HDR, high dynamic range imaging. You take 3 or more rapid shots of the object at different dynamic ranges and use an external program to merge the images (of course, some cameras have it as a built-in feature). But here is a Wikipedia article on it and a guide to do it in Photoshop. I hope these links helped
