It's roughly twice as thick as conventional Kontakt-3 ERA. But anyways, the tank you're seeing is called the "Samsam" and was seen last year, but with a more unorganized pattern of ERA displacement - it looked like it was just kind of slapped on rather then applied with any order.
I've been trying to figure out what the "box" is as well, it's also on the other side of the gun. My best guess so far is that it's part of a protection system. If you look to the right of the commanders shoulder in that picture, you can see what I think is a laser warning receiver.
It's the launcher for the unguided 333 mm Fajr-5 rocket artillery. The antenna is some kind of communications system, it's been suggested it's a data link.
One of the more interesting things about this MLRS is that it's being used as an anti-ship weapon. It's debatable how effective something like that would be though.
The engine, indicated by other pictures as well, that it's an AVDS from Iran's patton tanks. It is advertised as being "1000 hp" though, compared to the 750 hp AVDS 1790 so it's possible it's been uprated which isn't out of the question as certain models of the AVDS (such as on the Merkava) fit this bill.
