Re: the Great Escape - reports were saying that the manhunt was on. Those being picked up were, primarily, anybody without shoes.
Surprising in light of the three pair of sandals lying beside the hole.

It's a training op, not war. These guys would have access to med facilities if needed. Hell, even in Afghanistan now we have shared dinners with our ANA counterparts all the time. Better to put up with a little upset stomach than piss off and alienate the locals by refusing their hospitality. The "diarrhea killed more soldiers than bullets" thing stopped being true once WW2 finished.
If your stomach is too weak to keep that sort of thing down, just take a couple of extra Doxy before you eat and you'll be fine.
Portugal 1143 awesome pics. and thanks for the link!!
Agreed.
On our ETT, you were eating Afghan food. By the end of the tour, our ANA would have stormed the gates of Hell with anyone from our lowest PVT to our CO; all of it being based on the relationships made eating on a piece of cardboard at an OP.
Dont be a p*ssy...Liperomide works miracles.
Word. Not to mention that often, that food is a feast after eating MRE's and other pre-processed crap for days on end. After getting over the initial shock at seeing the hygiene, or lack of, in the preparation, distribution and consumption of meals, I ate every chance I had with my Iraqi's as an Advisor. On top of that, it was fresh as fcuk and beat the T-rat crap that was the only hot meal delivered to the Patrol Base. And that was only twice a week.
Thanks. I already follow MP.net for some years (2007?) but never registered.
Never thought that posting pics here is quite a hard task...![]()
Can't believe it, so many Taliban prisoners escaped. There much be some support from prison security.
If I recall correctly in June there will be formed new unit, based on Special unit of military police from Gliwice, called Agat. It will be sof support unit, and kindergarten for all future Grom, Formoza and 1st regiment recruits. So that is possibly last or one of last selections to 1st regiment
