The General staff says they do not need T-90 because its no more modern and they dont need T-90MS because it does not meet all their future requirement , that only leaves the Armata that if all goes well will come by 2016.
Dont see how they will produce 2300 Armata in 4 years not that they need those huge number in such short time.
So likely the 2300 Tanks are upgrade T-72 and probably even some upgraded T-90 and few hundred Armata. Bulk of the tank fleet by 2020 will be upgrades of existing tanks.
Are they developing a new Attack Aircraft ?
"Modern requirements for combat operations forced aircraft designers seek new ways to respond adequately to possible threats. As a result, was born the concept of creating a promising attack aircraft. By 2020, this aircraft has come to be part of the Air Force, is gradually replacing the extremely robust Su-25SM" - he said.
He said the new aircraft, based at the Su-25SM will be able to use the entire range of tactical weapons. At the same time the plane will have the effect of stealth, able to land on any runway, with sophisticated connected, radar and navigational equipment.
But the largest problem so far, as I've heard, is integrating this VLS with SAMs. Containers of the long range missiles have dimensions incompatible with the cells, and they couldn't be installed there anyway, because they traditionally use completely different setup for cables and other conduits, and it is apparently impossible to route them for both uses without the major redesign of either the launcher or the missile. There is at least one SAM in the works which IS being designed with UKSK in mind, but it's only one I've ever heard of, and it still has a lot of way before it.

Then it'll probably be more replacement for Su-17 and Mig-27's.
Because it makes no sense making a replacment for Su-25 steathy. A CAS plane needs to take a pounding be cheap. Don't see that happening if their going to make it "stealthy". Nor is it much use making it stealthy.
Although nor is a replacemt really needed for SU-17's and mig-27's. With todays planes beeing multirole and all. And with FGFA beeing in the works.
