    Russia to spend over $20 billion on aircraft building in 10 years — ministry

    MOSCOW, November 18. /TASS/. The budget of Russia’s aircraft-building sector in a period till the end of 2025 will reach $21.1 billion, an official of the Russian ministry of industry and trade said on Tuesday.
    “The program provides for the construction of about 3,300 airplanes, including 1,500 civil aircraft, primarily Sukhoi Superjet-100 and MS-21 planes, that will be sold both domestically and on global markets,” Sergey Fominykh, a deputy director of the ministry’s department of aircraft-building said Tuesday. “In the period till 2025, it is planned to build 5,600 helicopters, including 2,300 civil rotorcraft.”


    Financing under the program is planned from both budgetary sources and from defense-sector enterprises. According to the official, Government financing till 2015 is planned at $14.7 billion. Defense sector companies are to invest about $6.3 billion of off-budget funds.

    New projects include the organization of the production of Ilyushin-114 turboprop planes in Russia. Before 2012, such planes were manufactured in Uzbekistan. The project will reportedly require about $3 billion.

    Sergey Sergeyev said that currently worked out a serious program combining all the resources of the Russian transport aircraft: it Myasishcheva and Ilyushin Design Bureau, the company "UAC-Transport Aircraft", Ulyanovsk and Voronezh aircraft factory.     The result of the program, a three - four years, will be the creation of a holding company structure, which will deal with the creation and sale of aircraft. Where it will be located, has not been determined, it is possible that this will be the Ulyanovsk region.
