Yes, selling things for more than it's actually worth is a very Dutch thing.

What are the main taxes you pay?
Can people in the Netehrlands save money?
A V8 engine you say? I'm sure those will be banned soon enough by the green lefties.
A nice quote from them today:
''commuters are the ''happy few'' and commuting is an unnecessary environmental unfriendly luxury. People have to live closer to work or work at home''Kunduzpartner GroenLinks bestempelt forenzen als de 'happy few' en vindt het pendelen een overbodige en milieubelastende luxe. Volgens Kamerlid Ineke van Gent moeten forenzen dan ook dichter bij hun werk gaan wonen of thuiswerken.
What is this ****?
Also note housing is going to get more expensive, as is commuting. So you get a choice if you want to be ****ed once or twice!![]()
Saving money is seen as a dirty capitalistic thing that must be prevented at all cost, make sure to hide your money properly or the taxman will come and take it.
And main taxes.. be prepared to hand in most of your money before you even see it.
Everything above 150k will soon be taxed a nice 68%, so don't think you can come and be rich here![]()
Well let's see, the main taxes are; Income tax, Value Added Tax, Corporate tax, Property tax, Inheritance tax, Gambling tax, Wealth tax, Gift tax to name but a few...
Of course, interest on your savings counts as income and are taxed accordingly though...
And this is why GroenLinks only has 4 seats...Ridiculous they still managed to f it up for the rest of us though. There are always people that will have to commute, not everyone lives in the city or town they work in, hell, the urbanization process was largely reversed decades ago, with people moving to suburbs and VINEX wijken. I thought we all learned this in Geography..Seems like some GL people need a dose of reality.
1-) Are there car factories ?
2-) Philips has production plants in Holland ?
"Four out of 10 Dutch priests want an end to celibacy laws"
http://www.dutchnews.nl/news/archive...ded_on_cel.phpSome 40% of Dutch Catholic priests want to be rid of the celibacy rules, according to an anonymous survey of 135 priests by tv programme Altijd Wat.
The survey shows that 39% think celibacy should be retained, with 21% taking a neutral stance.
Of the priests who want celibacy abandoned, 22% think it leads to ****** abuse. Just 10% of all priests questioned support this view.
Last year, a Catholic church inquiry found at least 800 Roman Catholic priests and monks were involved in abusing children in their care between 1945 and 1985.
In addition, church officials, bishops and lay people were aware of what was going on but failed to take action to protect children, the commission said.
There are around 800 socially active priests in the Netherlands, 700 of whom were invited to take part in the survey.
