The futuristic angle has gotten me a little down too, but after three games of evil communists, I guess they were running out of directions? To be honest, at least their future is based on technology being worked on/known about/already in use, so its not like a 1st person starcraft game. The first game was based in the 80's, and we got on fine then, and the community will pump out current content quite happily, for free.
It's a railgun. There are not gonna be any laser guns, I'm sure. As Messiah said, all the 'futuristic stuff' which seems to appear in the game is still based on technologies which are already known about or are in their prototype phases, just like the rail gun:

The game is to be released in Q4 of 2012. The factions are NATO, Iran, Greek Rebels, and Island civilians.

got sick of BF3 and went back to programming ArmAIIOA missions, playing the AI on my maps is way better than moron kids....
I'm still highly confused by this game's historical backdrop. How is that Iran has managed to become a super-power on the Middle-East and managed to annex Syria and Israel?
