First instance where i've been harshly confronted with the game not babying the player. Ship destroyed? Your problem, homeslice.
Almost happened to me yesterday, my thrasher was SO close to being kaboomed. Join the Corp chat and we'll help each other out. Have finished some hard quests with other noobs in the Corp before.

Making a guy in the minmatar race now. Friend is that race, so we can play together.

So, here i am warping to a friend - because i was gonna meet him. And, just when i have 2 warps remaining i get attacked, and unfortunately by that time my game was minimized and i was surfing the internetz (was on auto-pilot) well, nothing of value except a canon was lost. But next time, if i have a another ship and something like that ever happens. Well, then i am gonna self-destruct the ship, and remember to have insurance to.

Our little corp growths and flourishes.

Yesterday I bought some Rifters from our corp wallet and put them into our corp hangar in Gyng. You should be able to take one, if you need a new ship. Later today I will put some Thrashers and new modules into the hangar, too.

I think I could buy some of the basic skill books as well for you. We have enough money on the corp wallet at the moment, so we can afford some extra expanses. If anyone of you has some special need (Mining, research, production etc.), feel free to shoot me a PM or post here, so we can talk about factory/laboratory slots or some general help with more complex topics of EVE. You know, EVE has more to offer than warping into a mission and hitting F1 to F4 until nothing moves anymore

There are still plenty of Buddy Codes left, so anyone who wants to join us is still welcome Oh, and it's not retarded to play a game that takes months to understand completely. There is still some challenging gaming left, beside the easymode MW crap

Thanks Astaran, you're running this show.

    1) Think we should try and just build our corp up then find a niche or two and then work on long term stuff like raids or whatnot.

    2) Try to hand out or have people in set positions in the corp for experienced members like you so new members will know who to talk to answer questions.

    3) Rank names (other than Diva, thanks for that)

I'm sending Corrupt a buddy code in a bit.
Also: I dumped some 200mm autocannons, afterburners and other assorted modules in the corp hangar. I'll look into some production, so I can keep up a steady stock of autocannon munition for corporation use.
EDIT: Just sent Corrupt a buddy invite, he's going to dl it this evening/tonight.

to 1) We will find our niche automatically, when our new players figure out what they like most. Right at the moment you are learning only the basics of EVE: How to navigate without getting lost, shooting things, buying stuff etc. Later you might want to specialize in Trading, Mining, Mission Running, Belt Ratting, Small scale PvP (like Piracy) or Large Scale PvP (like 0.0 Warfare with hundreds of players). There are so many different ways to play EVE, that it is impossible to tell in which direction we will head. Maybe we go for PvP, maybe we will enter Wormhole Space and claim our very own Wormhole. Maybe we move into 0.0 space and join an Alliance to participate in epic fleet battles between hundreds of players. Or maybe we'll receive a declaration of war next week and getting screwed like a virgin on prom night.

to 2) Good idea. Maybe some sort of title to mark the more experienced members would do.

to 3) actually we have to different ranks at the moment: "BDP laundress" for the rookies and "BDP wearer" for the more senior members. But that was just some sort of placeholder until I have the time to work out a more detailed ranking system with criteria for promotions etc.
Your "Diva" is just a custom user title, since you wanted to have a special rank within the corp There are no rights or privileges connected to it.

There was a patch today. Normally EVE downloads just the patch and not a complete new client, but I never used EVE together with Steam, so I can't say if it's due to your steam account.

Seem like steam version is just like normal one. I learned it the hard way, because I have to do a 1.5 update now instead of 1.6 :P

Was actually looking forward to spending sometime playing Eve today, on my day off.
