Ive been playing on and off for the last couple of years. As of now Ive two active accounts - one 20mil Gallente pilot and one 16mil Caldari pilot. Ive been attempting to get into PvP however finding a nullsec corp as a casual player has been difficult and the militias dont offer much except gatecamps. Flying solo has really cost me a lot on the kill to death ratio. Something like 1:15. Pretty abysmal.

    Try Red versus Blue.

It's basically 2 high sec corps in a permanent state of war against one another. They fly mainly T1 ships and have "purple" events during which blue and red pilots fly together against a third party. It's quite fun and you'll get cheap instant pvp

So the 'Aura' epic arc agent just popped up in my game. I'd never seen her before, but as i understand it, she provides a sort of tutorial epic arc?

I think she just provides beginners tutorials.

Nothing to see here, move along:

Background: We've been fighting the mighty Goonswarm Federation and their Clusterf**k friends in Branch and Venal (ex White Noise sovereignty) for a few days now.
Some major engagements with up to 1,500 people in one system at a time were had. Supercapitals were deployed by both sides and Goons as well as Raiden. each lost one of their Titans.
We mangaged to win all of these enagaments so far and Gooons & Co took heavy losses. There is surely more come, as goons will not give up their newly accquired Systems (and Technetium Towers) without a fight.

Time Dilation was in use in these battles as well as reinforced server nodes, the result was almost no lag at the expense of a slight "slowmo" effect. TiDi is proving to be a great addition to the game.

    Internet spaceships are serious business.

The learning curve is kind of ****ed, although they have somewhat better tutorials now then when I first played.

    Some words of advice:

    1) Don't touch yellow wrecks or containers. They belong to someone else and you can and most likely will be shot by the owner

    2) Stay within 0.5 to 1.0 security space in the beginning. 0.4 is already the PvP zone and you will get shot

    3) Do not fly ships you can not afford to loose.

    4) Mining sucks

    5) Get a corp. Eve is much easier and more fun when played as a team. Corp members also help you with getting new ships, advice and with the basic orientation in Eve

    6) Do not fly ships you can not afford to loose.

    7) Be aware: Scamming, ganking, killing etc. is 100% legal in EVE. Basically everything that works within the game mechanics is legal. If you buy something per contract, double check if it's really the thing you want to buy. CCP's mantra: Any harm to you, which could have been prevented by using your brain for 2 seconds, is your own fault

    8) All races can do everything and fly everything. Get a feeling which way of playing you favor: PvE missile spam and active shields? Caldari. MadMax feeling with duct tape, solar sails and rusty ships for PvP pwnage? Minmatar (your way should be Rifter -> Thrasher -> Rupture -> Hurricane)

    9) Do not haul (expensive) stuff around while flying afk in your untanked industrial. You'll get suicide ganked, looted and laughed at, not necessarily in that order.

    10) Do not fly ships you can not afford to loose.

Never forget: EVE is a cold, harsh place. Welcome and enjoy it

PS: Sounds worse than it actually is, EVE is great. If you have questions or need tips, shoot me a PM.

Lol I was always stealing/salvaging from wreaks. Good fun. Most people will release them if you ask and they're around. Else you just take it anyway ha.
