They say its made around the USMC' MARPAT uniform. The new uniform will hide the buttons, add a place for a name tag and add several new pockets, like a shoulder pocket for pens for your portable office, an inner pocket for a cellphone, a wallet and a rifle magazine. Also the new uniform doesn't wrinkle and it has 4 air vents for your arm pits.

A pilot deployment will be this July, dunno what unit will get it, probably Golani or Givati me thinks, with first field deployments in 2013. The old unis will be phased out gradually.

As long as it can still be specially tailored by female IDF soldiers to their fit style, I'm game. Just got back from Israel....my god one of the most beautiful sights on earth was seeing Israeli girls in their tailored uniform pants that fit like lulu lemon yoga pants

I think it is a sharp looking set. Are they changing the boots to black though? Hope not, as I think the brown boot is better apperance wise. Not that a whole country would give a rats azz what I thought, lol.

I see the idf are continuing the tradition of staying away from irons and boot polish

Why do they keep the green tone and not switch to some sand tone?

Is it me or the cut is tighter than before? I don't think that is a good idea.

The color of the boots differs between units. There are black boots and red boots. Also note that the IDF is in the process of integrating new combat boots as well - Belleville's, similar to the ones used by the Marines.

There's no point at switching to tan color. If at all, the wise move would be to progress from the 1940's and change up to some kind of unique camo, but that won't happen as it'll cost a lot of money, and it's not a priority.

Because pressed creases and bulled boots win battles

looks nice. So they're getting away from those huge pockets on their hips and the shirts don't have to be tucked in to the pants anymore?
