I wonder what percentage of the Army has defected thus far. I assume the air force is still behind Assad?
Interesting video.

This FSAer carries what seems to be a FN FAL. I have seen some more FALs on other pictures of FSA rebels. Like the one at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-13855203
Does anyone know if these come from Syrian stocks? May be delivered in the 1970s or 1980s like many of the FN FALs that were used in Libya last year. Or is there any indication these were delivered to the FSA recently from elsewhere?
Allready posted in #623 but interesting indeed. The T-55 tanks appear (almost) all to be the Czechoslovakian licence model. Many of them have been upgraded with a LRF on top of the gun, either the North Korean one:
or another type that I cannot identify:
It doesn't seem to be the Soviet (KTD series) of Czechoslovakian (Kladivo) one though.

During Soviet times we delivered to Syria and other Arab countries several hundred T-55 and T-72 tanks which were never payed for. As for Kladivo, it was guidance system for tank operators, you would recognize it from this picture anyway.
As for those FALs, several weeks ago colonel Harati, former commander of Tripoli Brigade, returned from Hatay where he was talking with col. Riyad al-Asaad of FSA. They may be very well from Libya which has more than enough weapons.
