Yeah, it is a little concerning. Turkey should be watching it's borders more closely. They don't need to be putting the rest of the refugee's lives at risk who are in that camp right next to the border checkpoint by allowing the FSA to cross over. I can understand letting in refugee's and hosting the SNC, but they need to keep the FSA from using their territory as a staging point. Assad's going to use every violent act by the opposition as justification to use disproportionate force. To him, guerrilla tactics are a perfectly good reason to use artillery barrages on a largely civilian population. I'd hate to see what he's capable of on the Syria-Turkish border were the FSA to mount some major attack that Assad can prove was staged in Turkey.

The Bomber is in Jail - the bomb makers, the financiers and those in the London embassy that made the arrangements and attempted to aid the bombers escape all had red diplomatic passports and all went back to Syria. Where no doubt the all got promotion and a nice villa.

On November 10, 1986, the French prime minister Jacques Chirac said in interview with the Washington Times, that German chancellor Kohl and foreign minister Genscher both believed that "the Hindawi plot was a provocation designed to embarrass Syria and destabilize the Assad regime ..." by "... people probably connected to Israeli Mossad". Chirac added that he tended to believe it himself.[2]

Syrian president Assad in his interview to Time magazine on 20 October 1986, said that the Israeli intelligence planned the Hindawi operation.

I found these and hadn't seen them on the thread before, since most of them pre-date it. A lot of them are close to a year old.

This is the video many believe to be of Maher Al-Assad, Bashar's brother, shooting at protesters. The man is escorted up to police lines and shielded, handed a gun and takes shots at the crowds. He's the commander of the Republican Guard and the 4th Armored Division which are the most elite fighting formations in the Syrian military. The first is tasked with defending Damascus, the second for protecting the regime from external threats.

Human rights were a lot deeper down the ****ter before the uprising simply because now the regime has intense fighting to control, among other things. The torture, rape and starving methods (done by the regime) may be a lot more cruel and unhumane now but who knows how many dark prisons (see Iraq before 2003) were in existence within Syria and unheard of?

The same thing can be said about almost every Arab government in power.

Chirac sings a different tune since Syria blew up rafiq hariri in Beirut- Chirac lay down with dogs and caught fleas that bit him. Oh and Chirac is also a convicted crook.

I don't even know why they need to do this sort of sh!t, the Syrian government tortures people every day. Universal_Soldier and themacedonian are going to love this. :

That helps. Learning Arabic is on my list of things to do. Thanks.

Sky News report from Homs. First time I've seen any Western reporters venture into these neighborhoods in a while:

Funeral procession for the head of the Douma portion of the Red Crescent who was assassinated by the Syrian Army a few days ago:

Same wreck from the video of the burning vehicle you posted yesterday. Looks like an IED did it.
