Is it not enough right of veto in the Security Council? To provide him most recent weapons?

Russia has stated that they will not sell Assad the latest weaponry until the situation has calmed down.

Pantsirs are from 2009 IIRC in Syria. And Cluster bombs are not international banned.

Interesting, is that some kind of maritime tracking software?

I can tell you the crew is all checking on eachother, Maybe one of the crewman sustained a injury and is being treated inside. Just know allot goes on and its not as cut and dry as some might think.

Again, just by seeing what the explosion did I am almost certain the crew is just fine and it was a mobility kill. you really need a penetration of the Armour into the crew compartment to kill the crew and if that happens on those 72's you see heavy smoke coming out of the gun tube and the seeps of hatches followed by a slow or rapid cook off of rounds and fuel..... the explosion blows off track and bits of road wheels and the blast wave is taking the line of least resistance to the sides of the tank by blowing the track. Looks like a anti tank mine designed to cause a mobility kill.
What you say explains the behavior of the crew of the first tank.
The behavior of the 2 others is even more weird. They don't fire, don't release smoke. They advance. Once the second is hit, they start to retreat, again without returning fire.

I've just finished watching several video clips showing shaped charge weapons hitting a variety of different tanks. The vast majority of impacts do not result in the shower of sparks that we see in this video. There certainly is a bright flash and a lot of smoke, but not the fireworks that we see here. Based on this quick bit of research, this doesn't look like a shaped charge impact...more likely another tank or even an anti-tank gun.

    It got destroyed shortly after:

That^ was the tank that was towing the first one that got hit while rolling by the gas station:

Could be one of these rounds-

It seemed to me like they might have been maneuvering to simply provide cover for the crew escaping the tank in from of them. If there were wounded soldiers there, they might need assistance if they were to start evacuating from the lead tank. The tanks behind them might have simply tried to block small arms fire with their armor. Just a guess of course. They simply might not have understood what happened to the lead tank and what the explosion was and kept advancing until it dawned on them.

I don't get why the Syrian army does nothing to improve their tank's armor against RPGs. Sideskirts, spaced sheets of steel on the front and all around the turret, and some "slat" on the back of the tank isn't hard to make. Really, anything that leads to a premature/spaced detonation of the RPG round is probably enough to prevent penetration. They should really invest in some sideskirts and the above mentioned armor, especially when driving around inside buildings without infantry support.

Also, why do their tanks never seem to fire back? The 3 tanks that get hit by RPGs don't fire a round, the T-55 that was hit from behind the gas station doesn't turn its turret and fry them with a HE round and MG fire but instead keeps on driving blindly with its turret forward and getting shot at from behind...

It really seems like "Arabs" (I mean Iraqis, Syrians, Libyans, everyone in the middle east) have the sense of operating machinery, especially tanks, amputated at birth, I can't explain it any other way.

That sentence just made my day, good sir!

Lack of training plus not having any situational awareness at all leads to so many catastrophic losses. Is anyone counting, how many tanks and IFVs Assad has already lost?
