Russians will keep being on Bashar Asad side.Coming to Turkey I can easily say that for a long time FSA Colonel is in Turkey and full supported by Turkish MFA plus protected by Turkish Police and Army.He is currently residing in Hatay Province of Turkey.
Yes Turkey can give weapons to FSA and even Muslim Brothers ( Mohammad Shukfa ) stated that they will be glad if Turkish Army enters Syria and overthrows Asad but the region is not suitable for this kind of operation.Turkey has big problem with PKK and every step on Syria turns back as a violent PKK attack to Turkey.Still Turkey doesnt say anything to FSA members who are using Turkish-Syrian border as a center.
I have to say it increasingly looks like a civil war. The west is not going to intervene here. Noone has any vested interest except Russians, who are against any such intervention. I'm afraid that it may go on for a long time and one day we may even wake up with another Somalia-like problem.
defos civil war, theres too much at stake in the ME if a foreign army steps in to help the people, the whole ME will light up in flames
now if assad is economically strangled from outside and eaten alive from within using the FSA then the regime will collapse but to what length would the persian cat go to save assads ass?

must be misguided, paid or forced to participate??!
ps. whats with the nazi salute?
They could have been paid, as happened before. But Assad does have some popular support among certain classes in the richer cities. Also the lack of religious clothing is telling. (bigger picture: http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/6...iekopf1600.jpg )
Many nationalist groups adopted this salute in the Levant, but this does not necessarily mean they admire National-Socialism. Although some did, while others simply admired the organizational capabilities.
