Yeah, it's pretty crazy how easy it is to spread information via mobile phones and the internet nowadays. Really makes it hard for oppressive governments to pull the wool over their populations eyes and keep the outside world from witnessing. It's amazing how interconnected everything is now. I don't think we fully realize the consequences of all of it yet. It's going to force everyone to be that much more accountable because they'll be paranoid it'll get uploaded to the Youtubez.

No - you dont get shrapnel flying off and hitting the ground 20 metres away when a tank fires it's main gun. Watch again.

Tires are used to keep sandbags in place.

Yeah, I have a feeling it wont even with sandbags. Maybe if the bags are full of rocks and gravel or something, but I doubt sand would do anything. The armor is about 1 inch at it's thickest and an rpg-7 can go through a foot of steel so it's like shredding paper. Using the bmp-1 in urban combat is a horrible idea, IMO. It would be interesting to see how many Syrian Army bmp's have been lost since this conflict begun. Seems like I see a few destroyed every day.

You do not undestand! That's a BMP-1 with Tugboat addon armor(works like explosive-reactive armor)! It's brand new and protects against FSA soldiers bouncing them off(sandbags inside tires keeps FSA soldiers alive)

    DDDDDDDDDd

Brave Assad's syrian army should patent this kind of armour

Actually, there is nothing that indicates that this is a Syrian Hind . why didn't they at least zoom the camcorder out and show us the SyAAF patch on that Hind : ) at the end of the video you can see the AT-6 Spiral. Syria doesn't have Spirals ,and in the recent power show off ,Hinds got nothing but 57mm rocket to fire. So, most probably an anti-Assad guy printed a paper with FSA logo and went to a museum somewhere in eastern Europe,Ukraine or Russia and took a video of a Hind . cheap stuff

Actually I did think about that and closest solution to achieve the above is using a friendly Libyan Mi-24 or Lebanon.
