I suspect you're strictly refusing to accept that Russia Today is nothing more than a cheap propaganda channel aimed at an oversea audience, using every sensationalist bullcrap story they're able to find and somehow manage to turn it into an usually US initiated and run conspiracy theory that's aimed against the Holy Rodina. Maybe you're even interested in RT's bad habit to invite well-known "experts" on everything that has to do with the United States or "Ze West" in general and find their content informative. That's fine by me, carry on.

But please don't expect any sympathies for this Russian state-run and state-funded "news" channel on a US-based board that strictly enforces a zero tolerance policy towards conspiracy theories and blatant anti-West, anti-NATO and anti-US bullcrap.

Btw. I'm actually a bit amused you're using the BBC and Hugo "Earthquake Weapon" Chavez as your prime example.

Wow now you went into lala land. For starters, facts are facts not matter who the messenger is be it RT, Glen Beck, BBC or a Live Jasmin Blog. Secondly its amazing how you replied strictly from an imagined post, no one talked anything about an earthquake weapon or defended any of the RT usual suspects claims that piracy is driven by the west. You clearly didn't read the post you pretend to reply to, you didn't even know what was been talked about in the related posts in this thread.

In post #26 The Dane asked why there isn't a combined/coordinated mission with the russians to deal with piracy.

In post #38 i replied its because the russians claim piracy is organized by european mafias.

Some here then had a pre-progammed response and started a pontless debate Occupy Wallstreet style just because i said that info was from RT.

Words comming from the Navy's people beat opinions from ideologs and media types. Thats what they think and no one said it makes sense, its just what they think and that's the answer to the original question by The Dane, they won't do a combined mission because they don't trust the europeans.

I bet by now a preprogrammed un-reader is halfway in a reply about conspiracies or RT or Hugo Chavez that have nothing to do with The Dane's original question or with anything i have posted so far.

And just to prove the un-reading habbit, i mentioned the case of Hugo Chavez and his obsession with cancer as an example of fact in the from of a live broadcast versus the text in the BBC that claim things that were never said and further more failed to follow up the story. You can go check it here http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums...Leaders-really and troll my posts with replies to imaginary things that i never said.

Usually I'd have to agree that the messenger does not lessen the message but in this case I beg to differ. Strongly. You must be out of your mind to compare the BBC to Russia Today. Even the most esteemed media outlets have a certain agenda which they pursue via overemphasis, understatement or unbalanced coverage in general but that's nowhere near being the propaganda tool of a government that has proven again and again its enormous distance to the most basic democratic principles.

Here we go again, comparing RT with BBC? Or was i comparing facts and surrendered perception? If i happen to catch an Obama video as it was relayed in RT or whatever outlet that will trigger a programmed response from you does it mean the words that came from Obama's mouth didn't? I replied to The Dane's question from the only source i happen to have seen that actually had russian navy's guys with words comming from their own mouths regarding the problem of piracy in the area. And just like before i bet someone is already typing about a defense of RT no one is doing and ignoring this was about the motivation of the russians for not having a combined mission with the EU and not about the accuracy of the claim.

Anti-piracy actions. Somalian coast. Action on the ground. And now, oddly enough, a debate about the compared virtues (or lack thereof) of RT and the Beeb.

Time to go back to original topic, no?

EU Naval Force Delivers Blow Against Somali Pirates On Shoreline

Earlier today, following the decision taken on 23 March 2012 by the Council of the European Union to allow the EU Naval Force to take disruption action against known pirate supplies on the shore, EU forces conducted an operation to destroy pirate equipment on the Somali coastline.

The operation was conducted in accordance with the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1851 and has the full support of the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia. The focused, precise and proportionate action was conducted from the air and all forces returned safely to EU warships on completion. Whilst assessment is on-going, surveillance of the area during the action indicates that no Somalis were injured ashore as a result of EU action.

Speaking about the operation, the Operation Commander of the EU Naval Force, Rear Admiral Duncan Potts said “We believe this action by the EU Naval Force will further increase the pressure on, and disrupt pirates’ efforts to get out to sea to attack merchant shipping and dhows.
    Tres bien!
