But reading posts about war not being a video game
That was me and i apologize for that to him (and you) especially if he is a combat vet. I mean he knows what a war is and doesn't need to be patronized about.

My "you should lurk moar" may have also sounded a little bit patronizing for a combat vet if badly understood so i apologize again. Anyway this one was meant as "you should lurk moar about Iran and Persian Gulf situation" because of the non-sens of his post's content. But it was a bad wording so again, he has all my excuses.....

But reading posts about war not being a video game or a movie when they're addressed to a 67 year old combat veteran was getting on my last goddamned nerve.
I didn't post that war video game comment, I just reacted to comments like this:

I think that is nothing short of advocating total war and genocide (hitting civial targets and in later posts talking about glassing Iran).

edit: I wouldn't mind people like Ali Khameini meeting same fate as Saddam Hussein but killing loads of regular Iranians because of what their leadership might do is wrong.

Pick one cause you can't have both. And by the way, Iraq took the same hits Jack is wishing upon the Iranians, neither were total war or genocide. Though the claim can be made that sanctions are a crime against humanity because they hurt the weak in the targeted populations while doing nothing to those in power.

I thought coalition mostly hit military and goverment targets in Iraq and didn't specifically target cities, private property and things absolutely vital for survival of regular Iraqis (water mains for example).

In any case hitting the infrastructure of a country isn't "genocidal".

Iran has done well, got over the internal strife and has somewhat adapted to isolation, though the EU sanctions may bite a little.
US and EU is weathering a depression but has freed up bodies from Iraq. Fed can always put an additional turbo on the printing press.
On balance Iran is running out of road, and had developed some good will which is getting eaten.
Really hope it doesn't come to it............ there is a huge rational population in Iran beneath the crazies on top. Could be a fine place otherwise.

You'd be wrong, Iraq's infrastructure was devastated in the '91 Gulf war. Sanctions on top of it all had a horrible (some would say criminal) effect on the civilian population. Thousands died needlessly because basic medications and clean water were not available.

Genocide, no, but a crime against humanity? I say yes.

Considering that jacknola posted multiple times after i posed that question, i'm going to ask again: When was the last time the Iranian regime ordered the stoning of women for uncovering their faces?
And i'm really waiting for his answer.

Interesting fact from the telegraph, I think thats where I just saw it, more than 85 per cent of crude oil exports throught the Strait of Hormuz went to Asian markets. Is Iran really going to risk it's cosy relationship with China/Russia just because of some extra sanctions?

It doesn't really matter if she was stoned for uncovering her face or uncovering her a$$, because the idea Jack expressed was clear.
The man has 3 times your age (and experience you can not have) so please show some respect.

Oh, it does matter. Lies are part of propaganda, you should know that. Him being older and/or more experienced then me has nothing to do with this. So my question remains unanswered.

Clearly it wasn't a lie. It was a way to express his rejection of the way women are treatted in this specific society.

... No matter his age, he is and was out of his perimeter.
