    Wrong

The Spanish name, Islas Malvinas, is derived from the French name, Īles Malouines, named by Louis Antoine de Bougainville in 1764 after the first known settlers, mariners and fishermen from the Breton port of Saint-Malo in France.

So if it's not British it's French, certainly not Argentinian.

Delaying what process? we were calling for 100 years through diplomatic channels. we had the chance to take the islands by force in World War II. Sad we didnt. The UN is an organization to justify the acts of the world powers.
Argentina can exist without the islands? is an integral part of our territory, usurped by a world power almost 180 years ago, what you say is an abomination
Speaking as the descendant of "artificially implanted" Irish and Scottish and French (yeah, Grandpa McIntyre liked French girls) ancestors here in the US, I'm waiting for those motherf*ckers to come and rescue me from my current predicament also.

You are an incredibly ignorant dipsh*t. Try addressing a current issue in your country, as opposed to some bullsh*t manufactured 180 year old outrage that inflames your nationalistic tendencies. I'm sure that mongoloid leader you have counts on dumbasses like you to perpetuate her stupidity.

    Since we're copy/pasting from wiki,

    • That the British were the first to claim the islands in 1690 and have never renounced that claim.
    • That the islands have been continuously and peacefully occupied by the UK since 1833, with the exception of "2 months of illegal occupation" by Argentina.
    • That Argentina's attempts to colonise the islands in 1820–33 were "sporadic and ineffectual".
    • That the islands had no indigenous or settled population before British settlement.
    • That in an Argentine-inspired poll in 1994, 87% of the island's population rejected any form of discussion of sovereignty under any circumstances.[55]
    • That the principle of uti possidetis juris "is not accepted as a general principle of international law".
    • That UN General Assembly resolutions calling for negotiations "are flawed because they make no reference to the Islanders' right to choose their own future."[55]
    • The European Union Treaty of Lisbon ratifies that the Falkland Islands belong to Britain.[54]

I fail to see how the US Secretary of State's opinion matters. She doesn't decide the sovereignty of the Islands. They do have a "de facto government", which constitutionally recognises the Queen as Head of State.

three years later, in late 1773, Britain ordered his officers to abandon Port Egmont in the Falkland Islands, which was completed on 22 May 1774.57 Before leaving the island, they set a lead plaque with the following inscription:
Know all nations, that the Falkland Islands, with this strong, warehouses, wharves, natural harbors, bays and coves belonging to them, are the exclusive rights and property of his most sacred Majesty George III, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, etc.. In witness whereof, this plate is placed, and the colors of His Majesty left waving a sign of possession by S. W. Clayton, Commanding Officer of the Falklands Islands. A.D. 1774. This plaque was removed in 1780 and taken to Buenos Aires by captain Juan Pablo Callejas.58 was retrieved from the archives of the city by William Beresford during the English invasion of 1806 the Rio de la Plata, but it never came to Britain and current whereabouts are unknown

so.. leave a plaque and becomes their island..

British have more right to claim these islands than you, deal with it and grow up.

    *yawn*

The same regurgitated delusionary crap any 13 year old argentine could come up with.

I genuinely pity you. You're the product of a system that seeks to unite based on lies of victimhood.

The story, as always, is rippled with irony and completely undermined by facts.

....just another day as a malvinist chest-beater.

    The islands are there.
    People live there.
    Leave them alone.

    Nuff said.

Argentinas only claim to the islands are when a pirate who was on the run after sinking a Portuguese ship stayed on the Falklands for a few months and claimed them in the name of Argentina.

We had an Argentine pirate (along with a crew of Hawaiians) that sacked and razed Monterey and Santa Barabara, California and stayed for a few weeks.
Where's California on the list of Argentine territorial claims?

I like your copy/paste from wiki, show how the island were 20 years uninhabited, then you are giving me reason, we build settlements and populate the islands and the British Empire expelled the inhabitants.

Most of the Shetland Isles are uninhabited too, perhaps Argentina should rock up and claim them.

Who's "we"? Vernet had no allegiance to Argentina.

The settlers there were his workers, mostly gauchos from modern day Brazil and Uruguay (he didn't think much of the work ethic of the BsAs crowd). Those who could afford it left when his 'business' collapsed, most of those who couldn't were more than grateful of Capt Onslow's offer when HMS Clio arrived to find out what the fvck was going on.
