Seriously our Russian members must advocate this, Russia is roomy enough to do it and they don't have ecologist problems there!

Sell it as a celebration of the end of the cold war or whatever, the proof that the USSR could have won I don't know, but seeing 3 millions tons of ammo exploding would be like the most epic thing ever done by mankind for fun.

Ok maybe not 3 millions but 300 000 would be cool enough.

Yeah they have some, but somehow I don't imagine them opposing something the army will do in a deserted area... It's not Germany (or France) where tank exercises could be banned if their where a risk of scaring off some lizards and hurt plants.

There's no need for REFORGER-style exercises in my country, as we are not dependent on some farmers' fields to drive our tanks around. Got some nice (and sufficiant) training grounds, so I have heard.

but seriously,3 million tonne? it'll take your(and mine) generation to empty the damn pile down till the last round

i think it's better to recycle it(there's iron,copper,brass,aluminum,lead,etc)...it's more cost effective to recycle stuff than to mine it
