Thread: China interested in Israel railway project

Default China interested in Israel railway project

Israel is expected to be the new energy-export country. So China is interested in Israel's railway project that connects Israel's gas and oil fields in the Mediterranean to the Red Sea port-city Eilat, which bypasses the troublesome strait of Hormuz and facilitates gas and oil exports to Asia.

Like most Western media, Israel media usually report China in a negative way, some even made the ridiculous accusation that CCP is worse than the Nazis and Chinese leaders are worse than Hitler, so whether China can eventually overcome the local oppositions and join the project remains to be seen.

The project is said to cost 7.9 billions, span 240 kms (150 miles) through the Negev desert. Here is a map of Israel:

    You want China to abstain.
If China wants the rail project, they must guarantee an abstention at the UN security council.

    China diplomacy at work.

China's Middle East diplomacy is adroitly advancing three parallel tracks engaging Iran, GCC states and Israel.

Netanyahu said, "I appreciate China's need to ensure a regular supply of sources of energy in order to continue its impressive growth. I believe it is possible to replace Iranian oil." He still hopes to wean China away from Iranian oil, although Beijing has no intentions to erode its economic relationship with Iran. China-Iran trade is booming at US$45 billion - as compared to $8 billion China-Israel trade.

China will drive a hard bargain to buy Iranian oil at a discount. Still hurting the Mullahs.

The railroad was approved by the cabinet and a Chinese partnership is seen as a serious option: http://www.globes.co.il/serveen/glob...21862&fid=1725

"India and Israel are ideal partners"

[*******#666666][FONT=arial]Indian Minister for Urban Development Kamal Nath told "Globes" that India wants to invest in Israeli infrastructure projects.

Nath says, "India is seeking to invest in Israeli projects." It is especially interested in the railway linking the Ashdod and Eilat ports, a project that the Chinese are also interested in. They are interested in a transport route for goods from Asia through the Red Sea to Eilat, then overland to Ashdod, and from there by ship to Europe, bypassing the Suez Canal.
