I had a toy BRDM as a kid... my guns were not modeled after real arms though... Had a double barrel shotgun, a revolver (quite heavy and realistic looking) and some funky automatic with a leather Holster and a star on the grips...
Russian boys should play with Russian toys, not guns and battle tanks fashioned after Western models, the cabinet minister in charge of Russia's defense industry said.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin took some time out from his oversight of the production of real weapons, turning to toy arms in comments on Twitter.
"Our children have played with Leopards enough," he said on his Twitter account, referring to a German-made tank first introduced in the Cold War era.

I had a red PPSh with black drumIn general i like this idea - no more chinese copies of US tanks.
Will there be a criminalization of all those Russian Airsofters who pose as Bundeswehr soldiers, or FFL?![]()
Ah, yeah, I remember back in former-Yugoslavia, before the war, I had a toy M-16. Not a toy Zastava assault rifle... Damn you, capitalism !!
I've had a collection of figherjets... cheap, small red plastic ones... still loved them
Also I think a tank and a PPSh but I don't remember too well.
Poor guy, bit late with the idea though as Chavez instituted this a few years ago in Venezuela,
but do boys in Russia really want miniscule Tzar Putin toy dolls, maybe if they came free with
some of the 3 million tons of military ordnance they have to get rid off quick.
Or maybe they could clone the "Ioanskavitch 7"thats a "Johnny Seven"

There are a couple of Russian companies like Zvedza and Strelets that make excellent 20mm and 28mm figures (with a lot of emphasis of Russian/USSR stuff). I'd totally say thay should be supported as the stuff they produce is amongst the best available.

BTR-60 for me as well. I also had a gorgeous soviet era metallic model of an I-16. God I loved that thing to death, broke my heart when its left wing broke off, and then it got lost in the move to europe...
Also it was the 90's so there were tons of cheap plastic soldiers
My favorite model as a kid was my 1/48th scale Mig-25.
If Russian children played with toys of Russian tanks and aircraft, things like this wouldn't happen. Because children grow up to be adults, and if children don't know a Russian ship looks like, they will do stupid stuff like this.
Posters sent out to veterans on February 23 (used to be called Day of the Soviet Army and Navy).
I'm no Navy nut but I'm going to guess that's a US ship?
At least they got the aircraft right...
