For one Virginia-class SSN, you can purchase roughly 3 to 4 Dolphin II AIP SSK. I think this is a no brainer for a small country like Israel especially as AIP propulsion increases the range and endurance of conventional submarine by a factor of three.

I've googled, it says the Virginia-class SSN can dive to a depth of 240 meters while the U-212 (Israeli Dolphins) can dive to a depth of 700 meters .. is it logical ?

Not sure why this is relevant but why not? Boats that dive deep are always smaller.
Oh and the Type 212 is a different boat than the Israeli Dolphin.

From what I read on different sites many seem to expect at least 700 m.

But the difference between 240 and 700 is big.. even if you double 240 or divide 700 by 2 you get a big differnce, so there must be some truth in those numbers...
