Except, see, the terrorists came BEFORE the wall
Founding Fathers they were not
With Israel's construction during the last eight years of a barrier to separate it from militants in the West Bank, more than 50,000 Jerusalem residents — almost all Arabs — have found themselves on the wrong side of an increasingly impenetrable line.
They are cut off from most public services, even though they live within Jerusalem's city limits, hold residency cards and pay city taxes like everyone else.

Thanks Ordie, with you posting on MP.net I can cancel my Haaretz subscription.
What I like most about this piece is what it doesn't mention, like the attacks on public service people (i.e firefighters, medics, police, safety inspectors, garbage disposal trucks etc) in the arab neighborhoods or the fact that not only does most of those resident don't vote, they also don't pay municipal taxes!
And BTW, the escort thing talked about in the article is because of attacks by residents on firetrucks in the past.

Ordie, MP.net Social Agony-aunt for Paliwood.![]()
Ordie how can you call for a more democratic china but you have such hate for the most democratic country in the middle east??![]()
But that is not the case regardless of what the Latimes tries to portray. this pace read more as a propaganda piece than actual journalism, where is the comment from the fire department? where is the comment from the police? where is the comment from the health department? where is the response from the DoD on why exactly the separation barrier was erected leaving this place out?
no where. that isn't journalism, it's an op-ed at best.

Why should we even care? It's Israel's business.
LOL. i hardly think US military aid props up the Israeli economy. Is this a statement of incredible arrogance or is an Ordieistic bait? Many, including me, would like to see the military aid abolished to both Israel and Egypt. I am sure you are aware of how and why both are linked. Frankly, given the few dollars the US contributes to the economic pie, the US Government has too much influence, imho. So Ordie, I wonder if we agree that US dollars would be better spent on keeping US citizens out of tents in winter?
