Yeah, it's America's fault they're in that situation. God forbid we say it's their own.

In Latin America, shantytowns tend evolve into real developed neighborhoods.

You think if we started calling them "Pikeys" the BBC would look the other way?

A little rat on a stick with some BBQ sauce never hurt anyone.
On topic, in Washington State their are plenty of places that give to the needy and shelters. Also welfare pays pretty good.
I never heard of anyone eating a rat in my life time other than Ozzie Osborne.

Do you think they're all living in tents due to the recession? There have been people living under bridges in boxes even during the best of times. Is everybody living in tents? Why not?

There is a substantial portion of long term homeless who are there due to drug/alcohol/ mental issues who even during the "Flush" Clinton years were living on the streets, that hasnt changed in decades.

They were blamed in a small way. Most if not almost completly all of the blame was from banks pushing out subprime loans that were in a logical sence, a terrible idea to do in the first place. To make it worse, Standard & Poors (Those useless d!ikheads who downgraded America's credit rating), endorsed them; thus making them more enticing to the average person who had no real knowledge of how mortgages worked from the get go. When the recession happened, everyone who went along on this got screwed over big time. They couldn't afford to spend so much on a rediculous interest rate that cost much more that normal interest rates. As a result, they were unfortunatly forclosed upon. Goldman Sach executives made off with millions of dollars from the ignorance and eventual sorrow of the people who went with subprime loans and lost everything.

Ozzie bit the head off a bat, not a rodent during one of his concerts.

Who says I haven't? (Longggg rant deleted.) People run out of money for various reasons. Some are deserving of sympathy, some aren't, and I'll just leave it at that.
