    Btw, the whole Ehrensold thing was a political ploy in the 1960s by CDU members to get Konrad Adenauer to take the Presidency.
    The old man was glued to his chair and they hoped to sweeten his de facto abdication by a lot of money.
    The ploy failed, the law was never changed.
