Bought it too. I'm not even dreaming about playing this thing with nice graphics, but I hope that it'll work nicely on low, just like RUSE did.

Anything against infantry at close range is going to suffer.

They are downright miserable. They're only like 5pts though so they're good for getting our a volley of RPGs before you send in useful stuff. Or you could just bring Spartans.

I put together a rough guide on how to assault objectives. More relevant for the solo missions when you have more time and less clickfest

    Key points:

    • Use your tanks and IFV's as overwatch for your assault.
    • Move infantry in bounding overwatch towards the objective.
    • If enemy positions are unknown, assault with your smallest force possible.
    • Use area fire to suppress unknown contacts.
    • Profit.

Had a great game against BloodyTalon. We both learnt a lot.

Just checked my kills, and I it appears I had some uber infantry during this fight. Poor tanks.

Just take time going from fob to fob. Cross the river on the left instead of going on double bridges. take out the arty and make your way to the loyalists from the left. Position your forces and hold out. 2 Fobs so it is easy to hold out as long as you did not take too many losses getting there.

I approve of Davedash's guide. It works well clearing out urban areas. Though for whatever reason, I rarely use "fire pos". I'll have to start using that more often.

Comes in handy when you can see muzzle flashes, but no contact to engage.

Also area firing suspected enemy positions is handy if you have the ammo for it.

Spent about 1 hour and 45 minutes on the third soviet mission, Pit Stop, before the game CTD'd. Bloody hard mission too.

Finding there are a few CTD's in this game. Will have to update my video card drivers.

my tactic in short: use rpg infantry, dismount and throw all of them - including vehicles - at the enemy to give them something to shoot at while the infantry blasts everything to pieces. soften up with artillery if needed
