Fox News made a good point. There have been a ton of home-grown terrorists plots lately. Buncha copy cats. I really hope our intelligence services can keep up with the ever-evolving Al-Qaeda aka AQ 2.0.

Looks like another set up by FBI. Looks good in the news. Can't blame them, there is no way in hell they can catch serious guys.

Surely gives a whole new meaning to the term "homegrown terrorist".

I can understand the tactic. If you're the FBI and you're monitoring some radical Islamist forum with a bunch of guys discussing terrorist plots, baiting him makes sense. Reminds me of the Liquid Bomb Plot and how they didn't arrest them right away so they could gather evidence and try to find as much information about the network as possible. From an intelligence gathering standpoint, I think it's the right move. Might as well learn all you possibly can before arresting him as long as you have control, which in this case they did. Doesn't sound like the public was in any imminent danger at all since the explosives were fake.

I can understand the tactic as well and maybe it is a good thing to do but they should not go bragging about it.
This sort of sting operation does not equate to foiling a terrorist plot and it might led to people in responsible positions become too complacent about the whole issue.
Also they will only catch the stupid ones with this.

Call it what you want, I'm just glad it went down the way it did. It's not like the FBI gave him the idea. Until we know exactly how it went down, how he was initially noticed and surveilled, how can we say how effective their methods are? I'm sure whatever tools they used to notice this guy can be applied to other situations, foreign or domestic. Keyword-triggered data-mining comes to mind.
