I made the same mistake the first month i was in Holland which led to some weird conversation and then to laughs.
By default "get stoned" in the Netherlands, locals understand "get high on drugs" but for me it was the literal meaning.

I was like "dude I didn't say anything offensive, god i thought you were more tolerant here" or " no dude we do no not stone people that insult in Albania, what kind of BS is that" or "Albania is not a an Arab country, we do not stone people over there".


I can imagine the dutch women calling the crazy "man of god" and telling him "i deserve to get stoned".
