Europeans have every right to be concerned about US politics since more often then not they end up impacting us.

Dutch banks also financed both the Alaska and Louisiana purchase...

(U.S. FDI totaled $194 billion in 2010. 84% of FDI in the U.S. in 2010 came from or through eight countries: Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Japan, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Canada)

Yup...that's why the Puritan colonists had to take it up....it was already sinking into that morass a future politician named Santorum would reference.

Hey, you can't pin this one on us. After the second Anglo-Dutch war New Amsterdam became English ( treaty of Breda in 1667). It's all their fault...

You could have sold them a slightly better boat. Instead of stopping in England for a new one, they would have sunk in the Atlantic and left us all happier.

We never expected them to even make it that far, but just in case they did we made them promise to make landfall in Massachusetts. An English held territory back then.
