It's all about nothing really. Despite Rick Santorum I think I speak for most worldy Dutchmen if I say we highly prefer good relationships with the USA no matter whether they have a Democrat or Republican government. We highly prefer it above any other potential superpower. If we think of differences between the Dutch and the USA, think about the Dutch and the Russians, Dutch and Chinese or Dutch and Iranians

Similarily, the idea of the US turning its back on Europe in favor of third world countries because they are more socially conservative is just bizarre.

I'd hardly consider people like Chavez, Kirchener(although Peronism is neither right or left) and Morales as conservative in the way the US typically views conservatism(which is rather different from how the rest of the world defines it). I agree the relationship with the US is important, we remain significant economic partners, but statements like Santorum's arent doing it any good..

No but in such places you'll more likely find people who are fundamentalist in their faith like Orthodox-protestant Dutchmen in the 19th century.

There can only be one conclusion; "If you ain't Dutch, you ain't much".

Ironically the phrase doesn't roll off the tongue so easily in Dutch.

It isn't meant for internal consumption, we don't need to be told...

Yeah it's better to associate with oil rich Nigeria then idea rich Germany. Whatever dude. Besides... who said Asia wants to associate with you and not Europe? With people like Santorum running the US, nobody will want to associate with it.

And yet the Netherlands has a higher life expectancy rate than the USA. That's quite an accomplishment[*******#333333], isn't it?

A new quote by Santorum:

"[*******#000000]…America sat from 1940, when France fell, to December of ’41, and did almost nothing.

[*******#000000]“Why? Because we’re a hopeful people. We think, ‘Well, you know, he’ll get better. You know, he’s a nice guy. I mean, it won’t be near as bad as what we think. This’ll be okay.’ Oh yeah, maybe he’s not the best guy, and after a while, you found out things about this guy over in Europe, and he’s not so good of a guy after all. But you know what? Why do we need to be involved? We’ll just take care of our own problems. Just get our families off to work and our kids off to school, and we’ll be okay."

At this point Nazi Germany already conquered Poland, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Norway.

(I don't think it has been posted here yet)

That video is too fantasy-like I have never seen two girls in ******s running through a big fountain .... Other then that, a pretty pathetic attempt by Fox news to (again) use my country as a bad example. Why do extremists love hating on us so much?

His way of argueing is classic though!

- Europe is bad here are the facts!
-- Rick Santorum-like myths are debunked by facts
- Socialist propaganda!
-- Facts are presented again.
- You can't just use facts they are European facts they don't work here derp!
-- etc...
- Fyck you Europe I don't care derp.

Oh come on, claming that all the fiends and dopeheads from the whole of europe are going all the way to Amsterdam is rediculous! Everybody knows that Venlo, is just right across the border from germany.
