As for the article, maybe he´s planning to join a Chinese mission, otherwise they should invest tons of resources to reach that level of development in 15/20 years. Well, I´m all for scientific developments, if they can do that, good for them. I just hope it´s not another smoke screen.

    ps: marsdaily ? LOL !

Going to mars is not like going to LEO.Firstly it would cost no less than a 1 trillion $ ,that means only USA,CHINA,EU,RUSSIA and INDIA can afford it in 2030.

Also the technology for the mission is extremely complex and still under development.I propose a joint mission to mars by all the 5 space powers.

Maybe if Venezuela wants, they can invest in the Chinese or Russian space agency and also start up R&D on technology towards the development to reach Mars. With the technology boost, it can really boost Venezuela's GDP as well and skilled work force.

It would not work, since both china and russia don't have the skills, maturity & technological know how for such a mission.Remember USA is the only country which has extra-solar probes.

US is atleast 50 years ahead of both china and russia in terms of space technology.

Not to forget that Russia and it's predecessor USSR have a 95% failure rate as opposed to 80% success rate for USA.

You are so wrong, it is ridiculous.

I would suggest go looking up Russia's success rate and space adventures. Phobos is to hit again BTW. Mars 500, does that ring a bell?

Use google, not just out of your head assumptions.

BTW, USA's space agency isn't doing too well with it cancelling the shuttle and all, and using more of Russia's space launches. Hey, that kind of goes against your saying of the high failure rate....

Venezuela can start with building a cosmodrome somewhere near its south borders. Even if it would not get them to Mars, they could profit by lending it to other agencies.

    lol

And look up the success. Also, you added in Soviet failures too (phobos). So it seems you are grasping at straws here.

i forgot to add mars 96 to the list....

I looked up the soviet sucess list.....Amazingly only the orbiter of mars 2 was successfully deployed but all other missions failed.

That means out of the 15 mission(13 soviet,2 Russian) only one had partial success.

and what is so wrong in adding soviet failures to russian failures since much of soviet was russia

For example because 8 points are more than 40 years old.
It doesn't represent current level of abilities.
In case of Russia-main question is the fundings.
