HE was detained for hours - he is of Chinese descent - the others (white) were told to get lost.
Around 1997 or 98 a group of Asian-American students from UC Berkeley (who were interning at various agencies/companies in D.C) got together for a tour of the White House. When they tried to take a group photo with the White House in the background, a uniformed secret service agent told them not to do it. The students were like ok sure.

As they were about to leave they noticed the same agent NOT stopping others (could've been Europeans/whites/black/etc but not asians) from taking a group photo with the White House in the background.

When they returned to California they filed a complaint and 2 secret service agents (weired I remember this) flew out to take their statements. They were promised disciplinary action against the agent but who knows...

Internment would never pass the courts today, if it didnt after 9-11 it never will again

definitely LD - additionally the mixing of the races makes it quite a bit more problematic now. Ship off my brother in law (1/2 Japanese) My nephews (1/4) or my sister (the dirty collaborator). Add to the mix that Bill is ret USAF, and his dad was in the occupation force for Japan. Problem would be worse with Chinese.

    x2,L-D.

After the 9/11 attacks, members of our local Japanese-American community held a press conference, and stated they wanted to make sure that what happened to them wouldn't happen to Muslim/Middle Eastern Americans, based soley on the race/ethnicity, and religious beliefs.
