Knowing you're a cat man CJ i'd advise against watching the cat one, seriously!

I have 3 dogs and a cat. I like the cat the best. He has personality and doesn't sh*t on my floor.

A cat with personality? Those are a rarity in my experience, although the fact that they don't **** everywhere is endearing.

    (2 species are endangered!)
    They are not vermin.
That is their natural habitat, these aren't feral birds.

You must have a permit to kill woodpeckers.

Use non-lethal control methods first and foremost.

Also- animals do not like very, very spicy peppers. These are good for pest control in certain applications.
No, you're right. I was like 13-14 and didn't know any better. Of course, at the time I probably wouldn't have cared anyways, I just wanted to sleep in. Was in the middle of the forest on private property.

    Well, just FYI-
Penalties may range as high as a $500 fine and 6 months in jail for killing a woodpecker.
Penalties are much stiffer if it's one of the two endangered species.

Phew, good thing there were no witnesses then. haha

Just kidding, I wouldn't do it again. I was young and naive and looking for an excuse to shoot something. Spending a summer in a cabin in the woods and constantly waking up to the sound of a woodpecker drove me bonkers.

I would never kill something if I knew it was endangered.

I would rape and murder a panda if I could get away with it. I despise them.

    Only two species are endangered-
    red-cockaded woodpecker
ivory-billed woodpecker (thought to be extinct, in my personal opinion it is highly likely that it is)

These aren't found in California, so no worries.

Woodpeckers can be a nuisance for sure- When warranted, woodpeckers other than the endangered species can be killed but only under a permit issued by the Law Enforcement Division of the US Fish and Wildlife Service upon recommendation of USDA-APHIS-Wildlife Services personnel. Generally, there must be a good case to justify issuance of a permit.
If you google search, there are lots of other options for damage prevention and control.

Ah, I see. Well I think in this case, if my cousin applied he'd probably be issued one. They were punching holes in his house and waking everyone up at the crack of dawn.
