Even after Assad goes the new leadership might once again be anti Israel so why give away anything now. If anything it is a buffer for Israel. So NO.
If Israel is willing to think outside the box, it can deal Bashar al-Assad, Iran, and Hizbullah a body blow without firing a shot. Defense Minister Ehud Barak simply needs to convince Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu to put back on the table the offer Barak made to Assad’s father in 2000—return of the Golan Heights to Syria in return for peace with Israel.

Im willing to give a counter proposal, we will keep the golan heights and the Syrian will keep the huge swats of jewish land in southern Syria that the confiscated back in 48'! How does that sounds?

A Syria divided along sectarian lines, could be a good thing for Israel. It would mean a less powerful syrian military on that flank. It would probably also be a blow to Hizbollah in Lebanon if (when) Assad falls, and would mean less influence for Iran in the region.
it was a stupid offer.....
it provides Syria/Hezbollah/Iran a vantage point to rain rockets on Israel. All of Israels cities will be in striking distance from the high altitude of the Golan/Hermon
