Thanks for posting Av4lanche2K. I enjoyed seeing the slow mo of some of the rockets and the Big Bertha launch. I used to really want to build model rockets, but I only got one done, an Estes with a ducted retro system.
I ran out of time to do the hobby at about the same time I started having the money to actually buy all the stuff. Maybe again, someday.
Takes me back to elementary school, early 70s. All Estes and instead of the electric ignition, we used fuses from novelty "fake" firecrackers. Have to say I was a prolific builder, but only 1 for 20 on successful launches - parachutes never seemed to open, or my open spaces weren't open enough and they're on patrol forever.
Thanks!!
Yes those not opening parachutes... you'll even see in the video that I've had another "takedown" :P
Unfortunately you need a special license where I live to launch 2 stage rockets & high power engines (Above D).
Nice videos. This is my favorite hobby, I used to go launch rockets at the local park all the time. None as big as Martel's or anything, though. The biggest ones I build were about 3-4 feet. Like, Katyusha sized. haha
Ah where is my Omega D rocket with its twin D size motors. Many a lawn mowing went into that endevor, and many like it. Thanks for the pics and vids, nice walk down memory lane.
USS Harry S. Truman, where having fun not only happens, it's also mandatory.

That takes me back. My first rocket was the Estes Bullpup missile that lasted only one day after a failed parachute deployment. Might have had something to do with my use of a C6-4 motor(?)
