We had a black frenchman working for us we used to call the 'Black Frog' he revelled in it. "Ze Black Frog strikes again" he would shout. People are just wet paper thin pussies these days. IMO political correction is a form of thought control. You can't say this or that. Sure there are limits but ffs most of it is in humour.

at least he wasnt called "Gook-Dong"... that'd be a whole new kettle of fish.

He might feel he has been "be-LITTLED"...

He might have a "small point to raise"...

You're clutching at straws mate and completely missing the point.

I am arguing it is stupid why assume I am outraged.

    1. I say that deliberately putting the gook in his name in that context because for some reason the person responsible though it was a good idea was stupid or not knowing how the names work was stupid.
    2. Using that logic to somehow say that we should call him 2 random parts of his name in a random order.
    3. When I ask WTF? You give me the "logic" for the joke with 2 random parts of his name. And call me sensitive for going WTF?
    4. You say it is about context so you think it is not stupid to use a part of his name so the headline says Asian double earns victory. Then again you though D!ck Asian was clever.
    5. What straws? You were not making sense. and What is the point?

Clutching at straws means that you are trying to achieve an argument that is not really there.

Dong- Gook is his name. It's the same if a player named Smith was scoring goals and winning the game, again context.

And yes, you are being over sensitive because of the arguments I've mentioned again and again, it's his name. How is mentioning his name racist or 'insensitive'?

I mentioned D/ck asian just to prove how you would consider mentioning his name in a western context. Which it wasn't. Gook double scoring made the news and his name was used to report the fact.

    So what's the problem?

Couldn't agree more. I've had similar experiences with friends of mine. It's when people stop carrying about this kind of crap that we can all get over racism and get along.
