But to get into a dogfight with an F-22 you have to detect it first (which is not that easy) and hope the F-22 pilot is reading a magazine or thinking about Mary Jane Rottencrotch so he doesn't detect you first with his better radar and shoot you down with an AIM-120

True, but those cruise missiles are not only expensive, but are also limited though. Yeah, yeah, the T-50 and the J-20 crowd may scream "WE ARE TEH STRONG! YOU ARE TEH WEAAAAKKKK!!!" all they want, but I haven't seen anything yet out of those two camps that any F-22 pilots will fear. Hence why we canceled the F-22 as it did.

I recall about 5-6 yrs ago pics posted along with an article, (on this forum), of an F-18 getting a kill shot of an F-22. Which would leave one to believe it's not just the plane but the pilot. Besides, that, the ace combat plane to plane stuff, there's plenty of ground based systems, that would instill a "healthy respect." Without being in a situation where they'd be battle utilized, which I'm sure none of us,nor the pilots really want to be in, it's all unknown.
I very much doubt that planes of such importance (and cost) as F-22 and B-2 are piloted by "just graduated coz dad was a fan of Top Gun" types.
I was thinking "Iron Eagle" fan types.
