Sorry for using Kotaku, but it was the only thing I have on hand.

I can't say that I'm not excited by this idea, if only for its novelty. Not to mention it makes me actually want to play the first two games in the series that I haven't popped open yet.

People are already saying that it should be in Russia. Their facebook page posted a picture of a barren frozen valley, my guess is Valley Forge and people are already arguing that it should be in Russia because America is boring or some bs like that. Regardless I hope this game is good. They beat the whole Renaissance thing to death, the crusades part was great. If done right I think this will be a fresh start.

I could get into this. Atleast its something different.

I still need to finish Brotherhood and Revelations before I even think about another one though.

People are afraid of video games being too American? I don't get it. We're awesome.

I played the first Assassin's Creed years back, but did not find it interesting enough to finish. I may pick up this installment of the series if the premise is set during the American Revolution, as stated in this source.

Only "Assassins creed - modern warfare" could beat it in novelity.

The Assassins creed games have always been wonderful cause it played in ye old Europe, which was a very good setting for a game of its type. I am not to exited to see it go this way, not because i'm anti us or anything, just because it will lose its magic. So lets hope they wont go full retard on us with an overly America **** yeah story line, which frankly has been done to death already.

Wouldn't be surprised if the "losers" of the Revolution were assassins and the Founding Fathers were secret Templar.

Personally, I would have preferred the setting to be Revolutionary France, but this works too.

Well 1770s Philadelphia should be a little less spectacular than Crusade age Jerusalem or Renaissance Florence, I'm afraid.

+1. But I'm thinking of Mason secrecy meets a National Treasure like plot.

To be honest I am looking forward to an open world game taking place during the US Revolution. I hope its like hopping around from places like Philadelphia, Lexington and Concord, New York, DC, Charleston, Boston etc. I mean how many 1st person games take place during this time?
