Why in the name of God??? We have Italy and fine "real" italian restaurants, at least here in the south. Chicken Alfredo and the like is not italian food. Just because you put parmesan on stuff doesn't make it Italian food

    Arrosticini
    Abbachio a scottadito
Insalata di lentichie con pancetta e verdure
    Cozza alla tarantina
    vitello tonnato
    pesce spada alla pizzaiola
    saltimbocca alla romana
    ossibuchi a la milanese
    costolette di vitello ripiene

    Try this for a change...

It could be more real than a real thing

Old world is full of authentic this and that, so why not authentic Italian restaurant chain with a touch of Tuscany from the States for a change? You gotta widen your perspective dude.

Yay if you like it. But there is no reason for me to go to a restaurant and pay 20 bucks, if I can have the original for the same price.

    I like classics.

This is true. I used to go there with my grandpa every Veteran's Day.

My grandma got me a gift card for there on Christmas. I usually just get take out unless I'm taking the girlfriend.

Olive Garden is definitely not the best Italian food money can buy. It's good enough when it's free, though. Buca di Beppo is much better when you do have money.

    Who goes for the soup?
Minestrone is usually what I get.

I was up at Camp Roberts a few years back and we decided to go to the local Chilis. 3 hour wait. For a Chilis. We went back on base and ate at the chow hall.

    Stupid small towns.

Everybody knows Carrabba's is the place for real, authentic Italian cousine.

All big brand corporate restaurants are utter garbage. Expensive chow halls. I support only locally owned and operated establishments. Much better and more authentic.

I agree that Italian American food is different than regional Italian food.
But its comforting none the less.

But if they add American Bacon bits instead of Pancetta on my Carbonara, then it's rubbish.
