Hey, I think you have an interesting post here that will no doubt spur a little discussion. For the record I have no problem with either organic production or conventional production methods in agriculture. They both have there pros and cons.
That being said, something you said in your original post caught my eye, and that is why I pulled it out. One thing that I would say is that chemicals are used in organic production just the same as they are in conventional production. I have a friend who raises onions and he uses a fungicide that is so toxic that he cannot apply it under his chemical applicators license. It can only be applied through commercial application. The interesting thing is that because it is derived from radish oil it is certified for organic use. He has said that it is much more toxic then anything else he uses. A good read can be found here,

That being said, I support the right for people to eat what they want and I am interested to see where this goes.
