The Colombian Navy new Exclusive Economic Zone Patrol Ship, the ARC "20 de Julio" makes her first sucessfully debut

At dawn today the Colombian Navy seized 954 kilograms of cocaine when they were transported in a go-fast boat type, which was intercepted about 20 nautical miles west of the town of Docampadó, department of Chocó. The boat, unmarked and unnamed, was detected by the ship ARC "July 20" that gave notice to a rapid reaction unit of the Pacific Coast Guard, which made the chase and intercepted the go-fast boat.

The three men who manned the boat feel the presence of the Coast Guard unit, tried to escape firing to the military personnel.

The boat intercepted, by the staff of the Navy during the inspection found the alkaloid distributed in 48 packages and an M-16 rifle, 13 cartridges caliber 5.56 mm and three cans with about 120 gallons of fuel.

The drug was submitted to the Approved Preliminary Initial Test - PIPH, testing positive for cocaine hydrochloride.

Apparently the shipment was transported to Central America destination and then be brought to the United States, where it would be worth close to $ 24 million in the international black market.

The three individuals were arrested and the alkaloid were made available to the Judicial Police - Sijin, sectional Buenaventura.

This is the first result of the ship ARC "July 20" developing interdiction operations against drug trafficking in this region. The Exclusive Economic Zone Patrol was assigned to Task Force Against Drug Trafficking and the Pacific arrived less than a week.

The Colombian Navy Pacific Naval Force will continue to develop operations against illegal armed groups who commit crimes in the north, central and southern Pacific coast of Colombia.

Generally during inspections bayonets are "Unfixed" to allow the inspecting Officer/SNCO to safely inspect the barrel etc. Once done bayonets are "Fixed" for the rest of the parade
