Btw. after watching the video of old Diablo 3 - what exactly is supposed to be better there?

Did you actually watch the video with your monitor on? Higher res textures and models, better avatar interface, better effects (flares, flames, etc.) , multiple camera angles, the ability to climb down ladders and jump across open spaces (though to be honest I haven't tried to jump across as chasm with my Barb). Go back and look at the screen shots I took on the previous page.

    Bullcrap, as always.

Changing the graphic settings sure helped me going to start GTA IV and ArmA II on my "normal" system in the first place. Far Cry 2 and Assassins' Creed also require a less-than-perfect configuration to run smoothly and playable. Same with most other games that have more graphics than story and/or content.

Well there are limits to what an old system can do.
Also running Fraps while playing a such a game on such a machine cetainly did not improve the frame rate...

All you guys on Nightmare, etc... Damn, my wizard is still like level 17 on Normal. And I have to say my level 7 demon hunter's caltrops are infinitely more useful and practical than any of the crowd control spells my wizard has so far.

Diablo games have nevver been stunners, graphically. I don't play them for the graphics to begin with, they are not that kind of game.

Whoever came up with the pastel color schemes for Barbarian armor needs a swift kick in the balls. My Barb looks like an escapee from Twisted Sister. The little pig-sticker I have for a weapon doesn't help the image either. Behold the humiliation:

edit: Now that I look at it, that background isn't going to win any prizes either.

Have you tried it with a big, mighty axe, and a dark colour to dye your stuff? I'm wielding two of these pig stabbers, and I'm doing just fine. Best I've found so far, very speedy and thus increase the dps even more.

You know, you can color the armor the way you want, don't you?

I do now. 123456 Come to think of it, I'd seen the dyes for sale but IIRC there were only two or three colors and they looked the same pastel $hit I've already got. Have too look into it further later.

Had a big axe and then a big sword and kept getting killed by a trio of bosses with molten chains and vampiric. It was not pretty. Got desperate enough that I went up on the Auction to try to buy a better axe (of course the auction didn't end for two days so it was effectively useless.) Found this pig sticker while I was waiting on the auction. Of course I ended up winning the now inferior axe and am out 70,000 gold. What's a real pisser is killing an end boss and having them drop three yellow items - for a demon hunter. @#$@$%@#!!!!

The government has launched an investigation into Blizzard Entertainment over allegations that the American computer gamemaker has refused to refund Koreans who purchased its latest real-time role-playing game Diablo 3.

The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) said the firm is suspected of having violated the country’s law on electronic commerce and commercial contracts. The FTC said Tuesday that it raided the firm’s Seoul office Monday and secured related documents and other evidence with which it will determine whether Blizzard broke the law.

The Auction house is a joke.. You can basically just sell all rares and magic items to the vendors except for the really good ones.
If not you just clog up your stash and inventory with stuff you never get sold..

They killed part of it altogether. You use to be able to buy gems and other "commodities" in the auction. No more. They claim they're "fixing" it, but it's been disabled for over a week now, and you can bet that if it ever comes back it'll be nerfed to the point of uselessness.
