    I've seen this before. It's an enjoyable series. Good graphics and a nice, dramatic music score too.

    Maybe the nastiest battle in history. I recently bought a awesome book called Angriff:Stalingrad in photos. Very good book.

    Yep, if Paulus had surrendered earlier or tried to withdraw, Germany could have lost the entire Army Group South. Paulus in Stalingrad allowed Army Group South time to withdraw out of the Caucasus before the Red Army could cut them off since they were busy finishing off the 6th army. Otherwise the Red Army would have driven towards the Black Sea and cut off the logistics line and then its almost game over.
